Ronaki Duhok is a training company that emphasizes the importance of English and English communication with its educational curriculum and the opportunities it provides. One of these initiatives, the Young Communicators English Competition, consists of three categories, covering 7, 8, 10 and 11, and private school students in prep classes. Our training company aims at:
Focus on the importance of English communication,
To motivate students to learn English and to develop positive attitudes towards English,
Reward successful students.
Each school has to select the students who will participate in the competition before they participate in the competition. The English department of schools selects 6 students to create a team to represent their school in each category. The basic rule of the competition is that the students who have participated in the competition have not been in an English-speaking country for more than six months.
The examination includes three different categories: preparatory classes (first category), 7th and 8th grades (second category) and 10th and 11th grades (third category). Schools with students from the categories mentioned above select 6 students to form a team for each category. If the school has two different types of preparatory classes, they form a different team for each preparation group. Degrees will be announced on our website in two weeks following the competition.
The first category for preparatory classes: This exam will be at A2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The curricula of our schools are suitable for this level. The exam questions will be similar to the CAT exam.
The second category for 7th and 8th grades: This exam will be at level B1 according to the Common European Framework. The curricula of our schools for 7th and 8th grades are suitable for this level. The exam questions will be similar to the PET exam.
The third category for grades 10 and 11: This exam will be on B2 level according to Common European Framework. The curricula of our schools for grades 10 and 11 are suitable for this level. The exam questions will be similar to the FCE exam.
There will be 100 questions for each category in the exam. There are 80 multiple choice questions and 2 open-ended questions. Each question in the multiple-choice section carries 1 point. The written section will be evaluated over 20 points. The participants will mark their answers in the optical form given at the beginning of the exam and the results will be evaluated according to the optical form. Only the writing part will be evaluated by the teachers. The total time for the exam is 150 minutes.
The format of the exam will be exactly the same as the previous years. Therefore, it will be beneficial for students to be aware of the exams of the past years. Participants must bring their eraser, pencil sharpener and pencils with them. Each participant school should assist a mentor with a group of students.
